URBAN PARK
Nea Filadelfeia, Athens, 1984
The project refers to the regeneration plan and design of a green park area, which had always functioned as a leisure refuge for Attica inhabitants. The main objective was to maximise its capacity in visitors while providing a green, contemporary multifunctional urban park area for the citizens. Its elongated geometry is dichotomised by an existing main axis, which is the starting point for the area's design pronciple. The main axis is transformed into a multifunctional zone with new points of interest. New secondary paths intersect the main axis and generate pedestrian movement network. Circular routes provide additional routes for jogging and cycling.
