PARCO IDROSCALO IN LINATE
Milan, Italy, 1999

Continuous landscape is defined and framed by built strips that leave large areas of intact natural environment. It forms a bidirectional communication between the metropolis and its environment. The area is systematised and enriched with linear concentrations of movement, recreation and facilities, the communication channels. The spine of the proposal is a central channel, a metropolitan bridge - zone. It conceptually originates from Milans' centre and ideally evolves towards the next city centre. Inbetween it generates a new big square, reference space for the region, that concentrates central urban activities.
