CITY-RELATED HARBOR AREAS
Arhus, Denmark, 1999
The project brings forward a development scenario consisting of seven gates leading to the seven new Arhus harbor strip-piers. They establish a bridge of functional continuity between the city and the harbor. They develop with flexibility and synthetic suppleness, expandable in space and time, generating new urban and spatial landscapes each time this is dictated by the city's own transitions. They evolve gradually initiating as simple linear formations and maturing through time transforming themselves into total urban environments, open to further spatial variations.
