OLYMPIC SWIMMING POOL IN KALOGREZA
Athens, Greece, 1984
The two new Olympic Swimming Stadiums, both open and closed, are separated and unified at the same time with an open public space in between. The formal qualities of the scheme define the outline of the plan, which is generated by three hyperbolic curves and two straight axis'. The generated volume is penetrated by a conical entrance inviting people to walk through. The new Olympic stadium is providing cutting edge facilities for the contemporary sports culture, while at the same time it is attempting to permeate noble notions related to the Olympic values.
